The LIFT Program
What is the LIFT?

“LIFT” is the name of the County of Erie’s safe, reliable, customer-friendly shared ride advance request transportation system. Transportation services are provided by the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority. Vehicles arriving to pick you up will bear “LIFT” markings. All vehicles are wheelchair accessible and can accommodate most accessibility devices.

Who can use the LIFT?

Services that are provided by the LIFT are available to all organizations and residents of Erie County who live beyond the bus routes or are unable to utilize bus services. Income is not a consideration and there is no fee to apply.

Where can I go?

LIFT operates within the borders of Erie County and will provide door-to-door service. Typical trips include transportation to medical appointments, shopping and recreational activities. The LIFT’s goal is to provide all of your transportation needs.

When are services available?

Services are available in the Erie urbanized area Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. until 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., except holidays. Services are available in the rural areas Monday through Friday. Please call for the available times (814) 455-3330.

How do I contact the LIFT for scheduling?

You can call to schedule your ride Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. If you need to contact a staff member directly, call 455-3330 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
